Schlow Library is giving an adorable new meaning to the term “Special Collections”!
While many precious books are kept out of sight in temperature and humidity-controlled environments, our beloved South Allen Street library allows kids the opportunity to give their prized possessions a moment in the glass-encased spotlight for all to see and enjoy.
Kids can apply to have their special collections put on (safely locked and secured!) display for two weeks, giving their action figures, stuffed animals, or other unique collections the chance to be admired by other library goers.

Five year old Juniper’s Disney Doorables Collection on display, July 2025
If your child has a prized collection they’d like to display for the community, they can apply here! For the chosen collections, the collector and their grown-ups get to set up the collection in the case so it’s arranged exactly to their specifications.
P.S. Schlow is well known around town as an incredible resource for families. We hear so many stories about people meeting new friends at storytime with their kids or connecting with the community in other meaningful ways. Check out the library’s list of upcoming classes and events to see if there are any that your family may be interested in. (And don’t forget to swing by the special collection cabinet while you’re there!)
